International Handpanistan retreat

Hey guys, it’s Nadishana. I always was dreaming of the community of like-minded people who are as crazy about the handpan as I am 🙂 This retreat is a meeting point for the Handpanistan tribe! I met you all at the various festivals around the world and I’m looking forward to meet you again and share my music and knowledge with you at beautiful sunny Fuerteventura ❤️

After 3 very successful Handpanistan retreats in Caucasian mountains we’re finally organizing the 1st international retreat at Canary Islands in the last week of November! The planes to Fuerteventura are very cheap at this time of year from Europe, and even from USA they’re very affordable.

Workshops are for intermediate level.

We will learn:

Nadishana’s Interlocking method

Nadishana’s Interlocking method

🌀 Nadishana’s signature method: approach the handpan as an ensemble and use two hands as two different instruments with different roles to compose and improvise (interlocking)

Signature Techniques

🌀 Nadishana’s signature rolls: nail rolls, pinky-thumb, knuckle roll, etc
🌀Unusual sounds, various unconventional articulation techniques (pinching, knuckles, bending etc)
🌀Splithand and it’s different applications for the handpan
🌀 Extended Nadishana’s muting approach

INFORMATION

Handpan scale for the classes:

🌀 We use D Kurd scale at the group workshops, please bring your own handpan if possible.
🌀 It’s really easy to bring your handpan inside the plane as a hand luggage, read the guide here.
🌀 We will have some D Kurds made by our partner Nami pans at the retreat, please write us if you need one in advance.


What to do in a free time:

🌀 Two ocean beaches are is about 15min away from the retreat place by car, you can go swim!
🌀 Take a sauna
🌀 Enjoy the pool
🌀 Book a massage, osteopathic treatment, or ice bath (please let us know in advance if you want to book it)
🌀 Fuerteventura is a popular surfing destination, so you can go surfing!
🌀 Vulcano hitchhiking

Getting there:

🌀 Taxi from Fuerteventura airport takes about 45 min and will cost about 50,- Euro. 
🌀 We recommend to rent a car if you want to explore the island by your own. One of the car rental points is at the airport.
🌀 You can come by bus. Public transport is cheap but can take up to 3 hours to come to the place considering waiting time between the bus line changes. First take the Bus line 3 (Aeropuerto- Puerto del Rosario) till central bus station in Puerto del Rosario. Then take Bus line 06 (Puerto del Rosario – Corralejo) till Corralejo. Then take Bus line 08 (Corralejo-El Cotillo)  till Lajares.

 

The venue:
🌀 The 7 Lemons House at the bottom of Lajares Volcano is a yoga, surf and relaxation retreat. It is run by a very sympathic German/ Italian family. Here you can enjoy a variety of exercise and relaxation offers, spoil yourself with delicious food and enjoy the peace and tranquility. The house and the garden are an absolute oasis of peace and you can relax wonderfully. The rooms are very well maintained and cozy. MORE INFO HERE
